What is AVT/ABA?
Parents often have questions about effective treatments for their children. In the following, therefore, some articles on the state of research on therapeutic approaches are given. be here Evidence-Based Practices (EBP) like ABA/AVT and a short case study.
ABA stands forApplied Behavior Analysis and is based - like AVT - on theoretical learning methods. Since ABA is unfortunately often confused with the Discrete Learning Format (DFT) in Germany, the term AVT (autism-specific behavioral therapy) makes it clear that a wide range of strategies is necessary for the spectrum of those affected with autism. In addition to the DTF, this includes precision learning, pivotal response training, verbal behavior, visual aids, video modeling and cognitive behavior modification (further methods see Hume et al, 2021 below).
